The Center for European Studies of YSU within the Frames of GC Caucasus programme, together with “Centre for the implementation of legal education and rehabilitation programmes” SNCO and The Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law have jointly launched trainings on “International Standards for Combating Torture, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment” and “In Penitentiary Institutions international standards of human rights protection” topics.
The opening speech was made by Lilit Mirzoyan, Deputy Director of Centre for European Studies Center, Arman Gasparyan, Program Officer of the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, Hayk Sanosyan, Director of the “Centre for the implementation of legal education and rehabilitation programmes” SNCO of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia.
The parties emphasized the possibility of tripartite cooperation, noting that the implementation of training aimed at the development of their abilities is essential in obtaining comprehensive knowledge of penitentiary officers.
